We are excited to share that we successfully carried out the first deployment of our newly designed buoy system<\/strong>! This marks a big step forward in our project, as we introduced several major upgrades:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd0b New energy setup<\/strong> for improved reliability
\ud83d\udee0\ufe0f Fresh design and materials<\/strong> (now built with PETG for strength and durability)
\ud83d\udce1 LTE communication<\/strong> replacing Iridium satellite, giving us faster and more cost-effective data transmission<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a rainy morning \ud83c\udf27\ufe0f, our team ventured out to Kure<\/strong>, where we partnered with the Hiroshima University Faculty of Biological Science Training Ship Base<\/strong> near the historic Yamato Port \u2693<\/strong>. We were able to use one side of the dock to tether our buoy securely in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From there, the buoy began collecting and transmitting seawater readings every 30 minutes \u23f1\ufe0f<\/strong>, marking the start of its operational journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This deployment is a big milestone for us, and we\u2019re excited to keep improving as we move toward long-term monitoring of seawater quality and ocean currents \ud83c\udf0d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
